After reading "American Wife", I became interested to read the real story of Laura Bush's life and her husband's presidency. This book was fascinating from beginning to end. It offers interesting insights into the lives and responsibilities of the President and First Lady. She tells of her traveling and people she met, the steps she made in education and women's rights. It was particularly interesting to hear of the days following 9/11 from that prospective. Highly recommended.
I really liked this book. I stumbled across it from a review that compared it to novels by Nina Kiriki Hoffman, whom I really like. I did get the same sense from this book and thought it was simply great.
definitely worth reading.
