I learned that I am not an alcoholic. It did however make me question my entire social life
This heartwarming story is my favorite of almost all of my books! Starstruck is the story of a young boy named Squidge that has girl problems. There's Suzanne, a star that fancies him, and then there's his girlfriend. How can he make both of them happy without breaking one of their hearts. He finds Suzanne at his new summer job, and she falls in love with him. As a wanna-be director, he thinks Suzanne is a great oppurtunity to get out of Cornwall, a small town in France. But he still loves Lia, his long time girlfriend? Who should he choose? Who is his true love? Who is his fair maiden in dazzling gowns? What do YOU think? --Courtney:)
The last few books from Manfredi have been very disappointing. And this one is particularly so. He writes a lot better when it's about actual historical events. None of his 'modern day' thrillers are in the same league. Maybe the original in Italian is better, but certainly the translator of his last few books has been very ordinary. There are a lot of strange and disjointed sections in The Ancient Curse, and I suspect it has to do with the quality of the translator.
