Ben bu dört ya da beş derece arasında tartıştım. Gerçekten orijinaldi. Hayvanlar ve suçluluk arasındaki ilişkiyi içeren fikirleri çok sevdim. Ana karakter gerçekten iyi gelişmiş ve ilginçti. Keşke fikirlerin daha ayrıntılı bir şekilde anlatılmasını diliyorum. Hayvanların arkasındaki mekanizmalar hakkında daha fazla bilgi edinmek istedim. Muhtemelen kasten tam olarak açıklanmadığını biliyorum, ama onları çok ilginç buldum, daha fazla bilmek istedim. Ve iklimsel sahneyi oldukça kafa karıştırıcı buldum. Bu yüzden kitabı gerçekten çok ilginç olmasına rağmen dört tane verdim. Senaryolar ve ana karakter gerçekten bana bağlı. Kendimi onun için neyin önünde olduğunu merak ederken buluyorum. Vera Dietz is totally appealing ..strong, opinionated, capable, and wonderfully flawed. She lives with her parsimonious father and next door to the Kahns. They listen to Mr. Kahn regularly beat his wife and Charlie Kahn has been her best friend since childhood. But childhood is in the past and Vera and Charlie struggle with defining their relationship as they go through high school. Charlie makes some bad choices and winds up dead on his lawn, accused of an awful crime. Vera is torn between anger at her friend and the need to clear his name. The foreshadowing is overdone but otherwise, this is a wonderful book.
Mary Baxter has lost her young daughter to meningitis and her grief is so overwhelming that it’s consuming her. Mary decides to join a knitting group where she meets a cast of characters that you will fall in love with. As the women in the group begin to teach Mary the stitches and finer points of knitting, they each slowly begin to reveal the secrets they themselves harbour. Only through telling their stories, is Mary able to reveal her own and ends up finding that there is love after death. This was beautifully written with good character development and plot line. We even encounter a surprise along the way that will leave you with your mouth sitting open. A book about friendships and the importance of being honest and open.
The Sookie Stackhouse series is pretty much my guilty pleasure. I don't really know why I read the series, but I still want to know what happens to the characters. In Club Dead, Bill has been kidnapped, and Sookie must go save him. Along the way, she meets Alcide, a really hot Were and she's starting to question Bill's commitment to their relationship. That's basically what went on in Club Dead. I have to say, Sookie sure can find a lot of hot guys. I mean, disregarding the fact that she's played by Anna Paquin in the TV series, I find it a little unrealistic that she's coveted by any guy that appears in the series, living or otherwise. Still, she's a likeable character and I kinda feel better for her because all she ever does is get into trouble, and gets beaten up so bad that she needs vampire blood. Overall, Club Dead is a engaging enough read, though it still remains firmly in my "guilty pleasure" reads. It introduces the Weres as well as new hot guy, Alcide, who is quite the gentleman as well. Plus, he's so polite and gracious. Maybe Sookie should just dump Bill and go with Alcide, since he is more human than Bill anyways. :)
