This book saw Kitty in a situation that pitted her against human monsters and taking charge of an eclectic mix of people thrown together because they were different. Kitty was forced to take charge of the situation she saw herself in and think like Cormac...something she did rather well. Kitty never wanted to be the person in charge, she never wanted to have to look after people...all she wanted was to be left alone. This was a book that I finished in a few hours. Once I started I didn't want to put it down. I liked how it brought together secondary characters from previous Kitty books and how The Game was mentioned but not part of the main story.
