Title in German: Untot in Dallas This is the second very entertaining adventure of Sookie Stackhouse and her vampire boyfriend Bill. This time Sookie ends up in Dallas to find a missing vampire. Hardly arrived she is at once right in the middle of the events and meets vampires, shapeshifters, an other telepath and has to put up a fierce struggle at not being captured by the ominous "Fellowship of the Sun" an anti-vampire club. A second plot is the murder of Sookies colleague at Merlotte´s Bar the cook Lafayette. One of my favorite scenes in this book was in my opinion Sookie´s visit to a sex club because she suspects the killer to be a member of this club. And she takes Bill´s vampire boss Eric as a bodyguard with her but who will protect her from Eric? Sookie is a very likeable character, a bit naïve and she tends to feel sometimes sorry for herself and although she has no broad education she knows quite a lot about love and life and has her heart in the right place. She insists upon her opinion of law and order and not to harm humans even against the vampire boss Stan in Dallas.
