I had actually read this book years before, but the life experience I have acquired since then made this reading of the book much more real and meaningful. This is a classic career help book by any standard, and it was something of a mid-life crisis that prompted me back to these pages. I love the integration of personality type into forming a career search plan (although the book I read after this one speaks more to the creation of a specific plan). It drives to the core of our individual constitution so that we can craft a career path that not only allows but insists upon the manifestation of what comes naturally to us. The stress reduction in one's work alone cries long-term personal benefit. But the chapter on personality aging was most enlightening. It helped me to understand why my interests over the past couple of years have changed -- I have lesser parts of my personality which are now demanding to be heard! The analogy of the family in the car was perfect. Over time the little kids in the back seat grow up to be teenagers. Once silenced by the parents seating up front, now they want to be treated like adults too even though they are not yet there. Not only did this concept help me to understand what I am experiencing now in my life but also it helped me to see ahead and plan for the changes in my personality yet to come. Overall the book is easy to read and most enlightening. I highly recommend this book to anyone at any stage of their career. The concepts contained within it are excellent for application not just in one's career but also in one's life.
