Prior to reading this book I knew virtually nothing about Ernest Hemingway. Told from the point of view of his first wife, Hadley the story introduces a young Hemingway prior to his breaking into the literary community and fame. It was interesting to learn about his early struggles, insecurity and lifestyle before he became a household name. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Hadley although you could see where the couple was going to end up pretty much from page 1. If you enjoy historial fiction and would be interested to learn more about Hemingway, I'd strongly recommend.
