Orwell's slightly darker interpretation of a Utopian society. It's 1984 (or so we think) and the British government has gone from a constitutional monarchy to a full blown dictatorship. All controlled by BIG BROTHER. Who is Big Brother? no one really knows, they just know that he is in power and what he says goes. Big Brother not only controls the government, he controls you. What you do, where you live, what you say, and even what you think. People are monitored through a variety of surveillances including a "Telescreen" (Orwell's interpretation of a Television), cameras etc. The surveillance are monitored by the Though Police. Any violation could result in arrest and possibly elimination. Orwell's novel remains a classic to this day and many adaptations of this novel have been made. Movies, parodies etc. Including Apple Computer's 1984 commercial depicting a society similar to the one in the novel.
