Literary merit -- three stars. Bumped up a star to four because Atwood's writing and storytelling pulled me in such that I stayed up too late reading two nights in a row and finished the thing in three days. I read Oryx and Crake, the previous book in the series a few years ago and enjoyed that one too. Looks like Atwood plans a third book, and I say bring it on. Best scene: The blue men's reaction to Ren's presence. Hilarious satire!
