This pleasant, well-written book was a wonderful way to pass the time while I was stuck on airplanes and in airports waiting for airplanes. Mei-Ling Hopgood writes beautifully about her experiences with both her birth and adoptive families. It was a little like a real-life Joy Luck Club when she describes the antics and adventures of her birth family. It was both interesting and heartbreaking learning some of the history and culture Mei-Ling Hopgood shares throughout the book.
