Book #44 of 2009 This one has been hanging around for awhile, but I wasn't sure I wanted to read it. After I read Veronica Wolff's Sword of the Highlands and it left me feeling strangly sad for a few days, I wasn't sure if this would be worth the read or not. Now that I've finished it, I'm glad I picked it up and I liked it more than Sword of the Highlands. One of the reasons I read this now is that Veronica Wolff lives in California and in the April Reading Challenge, item #3 is Read a book whose author, setting or character is from California. So, check mark to #3.
