I read this for school a long time ago, and like 1984, it stays with you in its apocolyptic view of our future. For people who like PD James's CHILDREN OF MEN or Joseph Conrad's THE HEART OF DARKNESS.

It is excellent to have a collection of Plato's works in one place. His arguments, although often rather batty, are at least consistent throughout. He rarely contradicts himself and seems certain in his beliefs. He has some good ideas in relation to virtue and hedonism. His concept of the world of the forms is a bit bizarre but interesting to read about.
