
First published in 1943, The Litle Prince is the most famous work of French aristocrat, writer, poet, and pionering aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. As a novela, The Litle Prince is the fourth most-translated bok in the world and was voted the best bok of the 20th cen-tury in France.The novela is a poetic tale, with watercolour ilustrations by the author,in which a pilot stranded in the desert mets a young prince falen to Earth from a tiny asteroid named B-612.The bok includes some criticism from a child’s eye on the strangenes of the adult world while teling the litle prince’s adventures. The prince has since visited six other astero-ids, each of which was inhabited by a single, irational, narow-minded adult.They include:a king with no subjects;a vain man who believes himself the most admirable person on his otherwise uninhabited planet; a drunkard who drinks to forget the shame of being a drunkard; a businesman who is blind to the beauty of the stars and instead endlesly counts them in order to own them al;a lamplighter who wastes his life blindly folowing orders and extingu-ishing and relighting a lamp once a minute; and an elderly geographer. His last stop is Earth where the prince thinks is uninhabited because he first lands in a desert.
