4.5 stars. I listened to this book. The Forest of Hands and Teeth centers on Mary, a young girl whose mother and father are "Unconsecrated" (i.e., zombies). Mary's whole world is her village, which is protected from the Unconsecrated by a fence. Her mother told her stories of the ocean, and, while those in the Sisterhood tell her differently, Mary believes that it does exist. A breach in the fence provides her with the chance to find out. Ms. Ryan has created a dark tale which is very gripping. I normally stay away from zombie stories but this one is definitely worth reading! I plan on reading the sequels!
