Fun and fine...I am a bit surprised by the awards and hype behind it, but you know, it was a great read. The relationships between Eli and Charlie were realistic (coming from a person with some fierce sibling relationships...and I mean that in a good way). I am sure if I looked into this a bit harder, about some of the social stuff going on, or the context of the frontier/wild west mentality and Eli so desperately wanting something resembling a family I would feel like expanding this review. But for now, suffice to say the book is entertaining, interesting, believable characters and dialogue, and just a pleasant way to spend my time.
