I nearly abandoned this book in the first chapter, thinking "Oh, I've seen 50 First Dates..." but I was on vacation and this was the only book I carried. Was I ever wrong! This is no Sandler/Barrymore creation, but rather a total creep-fest. I ended up reading this book through in one sitting after getting to Chapter Two. Thankful that I was on vacation, less that I only brought the one book, so lessons learned there (i.e., take more than one book on vacation OR don't take such a great suspense novel!) Creepy as hell, the suspense is there, and just getting to know the character as she gets to know herself every day. Highly recommended for those who like suspense novels, even romances...but moreso also for those who are interested in mental health/illness as there are definitely some issues that arise here about what it means to be living with a debilitating physical and psychological injury and be at the mercy of your caregivers.
