Book #58 of 2010 Book 2 in the Mercededs Thompson series... I keep getting the feeling that I'm burnt out on the paranomral, but each time I finish one of these books, I can't wait to read the next one (#3 is in transit at the library right now!) The more I read about Mercy the more I like her. There's just enough romance to keep me wanting more. But I have found out a few things, mainly about my own preferences: 1. Werewolves are not my favorite supernatural creature. There's too much dominance/submission/Alpha knows all stuff going on that grates very much against my "free will" kind of thinking. Sometimes, it creates very loyal characters. Other times it just creates a lot of conflict. 2. Nor am I a fan of the "love triangle" (or would that be love square?) Because there's not a lot of romance, there's no need to focus on this. But its there, and it annoys me. 3. Everyone loves Mercy. I know she's the heroine of her own story and all, but there must be something super special about this girl that EVERYONE is in love with her. In all, I really enjoyed this one. Mercy is a girl who can stand up for herself, and I love how she (most of the time) refuses to submit to the werewolves that want to run her life while admitting that she can't win all of the battles (she's a long term win-the-war kind of gal!)
