Probably the best book out of the Homecoming series. I think Card is better at writing about the interaction between humans and other sentient species than he is at writing about anything else, and this is the first book that really introduces the diggers and the angels and the relationships between them and the humans.

i had seen sofia coppola's movie first and was so impressed with the atmosphere created in this story. for some reason, the movie conveyed this better, to me, than the book. i think in the book it just became more apparent to me that nothing much really happened, and while that does not always bother me, in the case, for some reason it did.....
