** spoiler alert ** Required reading for my 10th grade son. It is geared more toward girls, but still held his interest. It deals with a heavy subject that most adults don't like to tackle, sexual assault. Mel doesn't tell anyone about the rape and we witness first hand her internal struggle in coming to terms with the rape.
